Dr. Samantha Brooks is the proud principal of North Houston Early College High School (NHECHS), where she leads with a deep commitment to equity, academic excellence, and the belief that every student can rise to their highest potential.
With over 23 years of experience in Houston ISD, Dr. Brooks has served in many roles — from teacher and instructional coach to Dean of Instruction — before being named principal of NHECHS in 2020. She holds an Ed.D. in Professional Leadership and an M.Ed. in Administration and Supervision, and she has dedicated her career to expanding access to high‑quality, college‑level learning for all students.
Under her leadership, North Houston Early College High School has been honored as a National Blue Ribbon School, a recognition that reflects its strong academic outcomes, culture of belonging, and focus on nurturing future leaders. Dr. Brooks has worked diligently to cultivate a collaborative environment where students, families, staff, and the broader Houston community unite in service of one goal: empowering every student to graduate with both a high school diploma and an associate degree.
Throughout her career, she has been a champion for first‑generation college students and underserved communities. At NHECHS, she strives to create a space where every student feels valued, supported, and challenged to excel. By fostering strong connections with families and stakeholders, and by aligning rigorous instruction with real‑world learning, she ensures that students have the tools, opportunities, and resilience to succeed beyond high school.
Dr. Brooks’ vision is clear: to inspire, to uplift, and to lead a school where students can pursue their passions, build their futures, and become active contributors to their communities. Under her guidance, NHECHS shines as a beacon of academic excellence, equity, and belonging — a place where every Red Hawk can truly soar.
