Dear Parents and Guardians,

Welcome to the 2025–26 school year at North Houston Early College High School! I am Dr. Samantha Brooks, proud to serve as the principal of NHECHS. It is a privilege to partner with you in providing an exceptional educational journey for our scholars—one that prepares them to graduate with both a high school diploma and an associate degree, fully ready for university success and beyond.

Our school continues to build on a legacy of excellence, ensuring that our students, many of whom are first-generation college-goers, are challenged with rigorous academic opportunities including Pre-AP, AP, Dual Credit, and Career and Technology Education courses. We are equally committed to supporting their social-emotional well-being, offering advocacy, extracurricular activities, and a school culture that celebrates both academic and personal growth.

I want to thank you for entrusting us with your child's development. At NHECHS, our team of highly effective educators is dedicated to your child's success. We know that this success is only possible when we all work together—students, families, and staff—as committed partners. Regular communication, monitoring of academic progress, and timely support are key to this partnership.

This year, we encourage you to remain engaged with your child’s learning. Communicate often with teachers to stay informed about classroom expectations and student progress. You will also receive monthly communication and meeting updates from me and our Parent Engagement Representative, Ms. Elia Contreras. As a first-generation college graduate myself, I understand the challenges our students face as they step into college-level work. Our mission is to equip them with the tools to succeed academically, navigate college systems with confidence, and emerge as resilient, well-prepared leaders.
